Tracy

I was born
and raised in Anchorage Alaska.
I came to Madison for school in
1983 and 1984 at the urging of a good friend from Alaska
who was on the crew team. I finished school at the University
of San Diego in 1987 with a
degree in Sociology and moved back to Alaska.
In 1988 to
1994 I worked as a substance abuse counselor at the Center for Drug Problems,
a clinic in Anchorage. I loved
the work but became quite burnt out. It was at that time in my life that I
felt compelled to leave my safe world of Anchorage
and move to America.
I also felt it was time to pursue my dream of owning my own business. I think
the coffee world lets me have the pleasure of interacting with lots of
people, which I love, but on a less intimate level then counseling.
Facts about me:
- I love to run and play
soccer.
- I was born in 1962 and
have an identical twin.
- My first memory is of
the 1964 Earthquake in Anchorage.
- I traveled every
summer of my childhood to the Midwest, California,
or France.
- My best friend died at
age 15 of lung and bone cancer. That event has had the greatest impact
on my life and how I live it. I am happy to be alive.
